Review: Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Skincare Set

Hello loves! ❤ Continuing on the second part. You can read the first part (here) where I was introduced to this skincare set and also introduced to their new and improved formula of Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream! All you need to know about Kiehl's and their history is in the first part of the post. So make sure you check that one out first before continuing reading this one! Its okay, I will wait ;) 
Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser (150ml) RM85
This is a quick lathering cleansing foam that thoroughly removes impurities and visibly reduces excess oil on our skin’s surface. It also  leaves our skin looking more balanced.  It contains two main ingredients which are Imperata Cylindrica (desert plan) plan and Lemon Fruits Extracts. Both ingredients are a non-stripping and sulfate-free formula that leaves skin clean and refreshed without over drying it as it takes away all the oils away. The lemon acts as an antiseptic quality that freshens, stimulates and rejuvenates sluggish. It also gives a cooling, refreshing and uplifting feeling. Its also suitable for sensitive skin as its very gentle. My skin is sensitive and if I can use it, I think you can too. Its also oil-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, colorant-free. Just squeeze out a small amount of product and lather it with water and gentle massage your whole face. 
Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner (250ml) RM85
Its formulated to visibly reduce excess oil on our skin’s surface while leaving your skin instantly fresh and healthy looking. The two main ingredients in the toner are again, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract and Antarcticine that soothes and hydrates the skin. The non-drying alcohol-free formula gently removes any remaining makeup residue, dirt and oil without stripping away the moisture. Its oil-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free and colorant-free and also PH-balanced and tested for safety and gentleness. Pour it on a cotton pad and gently swipe it across your face. Super gentle for sensitive skin and doesn't make your face feel tight or sticky. 
Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream (50ml) RM100
A refreshing new formula that conditions normal to oily skin for 24 hours of clean-feeling hydration. Its formulated with moisture replenishing Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract and Antarcticine to help skin retain moisture plus skin fresheners to invigorate skin’s look and feel. With daily usage, this virtually weightless gel cream minimizes the appearance of oil, making skin more resistant to daily shine and greasiness. With a burst of fresh, long-lasting hydration, the new formula strengthens normal to oily skin’s moisture barrier leaving it smooth, velvety soft and shine free. Its also oil-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free and colorant-free. Suitable for day night use as its weightless and absorbs face into your skin leaving your skin looking matte and fresh but at the same time, moisturized. 
Here you can see that the moisturizer does increase your moisture level despite it being lightweight and takes away all the shine.
Likes: After a month (sort of) of using this skincare set, I do noticed that my oiliness and shine throughout the day is not as bad as before. Though the shine test showed that I'm not normal to oily but I do still consider myself as having a really oily skin but like I said, I did notice some significant difference. The cleanser takes away all the oil but it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight and the toner is so gentle to my skin. All products doesn't have any significant smell. And also, love the packaging and the blue theme that they got going on! 

 Dislike: However, I don't actually like the feeling after cleansing. Though it doesn't dry out my skin at all, it does leave an unpleasant feeling. But it could have been just me. 

 Overall: A perfect skincare regime for oily skin people. Not only does it keeps your shine at bay, it also slowly reducing the shine but at the same time, giving your skin the moisture that it needs. The moisturizer is super lightweight, cooling and moisturizing. Everything absorbs fast into your skin and you are left with a fresh and shine-less face. Use it continuously for maximum result and be prepared to have a normal skin. Say bye-bye to oily! 
Disclaimer: Attended the Kiehl's Fun In The Sun event and they were nice enough to give the skincare set for us to try and experience the goodness of the moisturizer with the new formula but that doesn't affect my reviews and opinions regarding it. Event: Kiehl's x Butterfly Project Fun In The Sun

Hello loves! ❤ Earlier this month I was invited to the Kiehl's x Butterfly Project Fun In The Sun event at Secret Garden, One Utama. I was a bit lost when trynna find my way to the Secret Garden. The lift won't let me push the top button. Went in and out the lift and finally, it let me pushed the darn button lol and guess what? I was not the only one getting tricked by the lift HAHA naught lift! Now let me tell you a little bit about Kiehl's! 

Kiehl's was founded as an old-world apothecary in New York's East Village neighborhood 160 years ago. That's 1851! Even our parents weren't yet at that time. Kiehl's skincare is scientifically formulated to respect, restore and strengthen the skin barrier for healthier, more radiant, younger-looking skin. Their targeted treatments are powerful, yet safe preparations which act to correct and treat our specific skin needs and concerns. 
Because the Secret Garden only opens at 10 a.m., we have to wait a few minutes for the organizers to set up their things which was understandable and while waiting, we had the honour to sign Mr. Tengkorak! That's my sign on his jaw muah muah. 

The scenery up there was beyond words. It was so beautiful and breathe-taking. If you're around OU, you should definitely swing by and visit Secret Garden. Such a beautiful sight you know. So many lovely things to look at. The hanging lantern was my favourite though so pretty! 

Then we were introduced to the all new fresh formula of Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream. The star product of the event. Its made for oily skin to fight shine and oil control. Made in a new, refreshing, non-sticky formula that's lightweight and fragrance-free (perfect for my sensitive skin!). The gel cream moisturizer contains an efficacious blend of ingredients to keep skin moisturized for 24 hours. How about that! 

The other agenda of the day was to make a desert plant because that's one of the ingredient of the moisturizer. While waiting for our turn, we were served a very delicious food. I can still remember how some of the food tasted like. Yummy! I was so full after that HAHA. Oh, and we were only served a blue drink to fit the theme hehe so cute!

After that its time to make our very own desert plan or Imperata Cylindrica. Its one of the ingredient of the moisturizer like I mentioned before. The Imperata Cylindrica plant thrives in dry, excessively saline environments and is native to many of Earth’s deserts, but is especially prolific in the Australian Outback. It's roots contain high concentrations of potassium which provides an immediate and lasting hydrating effect. It helps skin to store and retain moisture efficiently even in the driest weather conditions. Its believed that indigenous Australians of centuries past used the desert plant as a substitute for salt, due to its high saline content.

 Antarcticine (Glacial Glycoprotein Extract) is also one of the three main ingredients of the moisturizer. With superb protection against dryness, Antarcticine helps hydrate skin and provides it with a noticeably smoother appearance while shielding skin from the damaging effects of free-radicals. It further helps to protect skin from extremely cold temperatures, facilitating skin’s retention of natural water reserves. The last one is Vitamin E or Tocopherol. Vitamin E is a lipid soluble naturally found in plant leaves, cereal germ oils, and milk. It is known for its antioxidant and moisturizing properties. And as you know, Vitamin E also helps in reducing scars and many other benefits! 
There was also a shine test to measure your shine-ness. My skin is normally oily combination. Dry on my cheeks and oily on T-zone. But a week before the event, I went to Kiehl's and asked for a sample and used a week before the event and guess what? I'm no longer oily when they did the test! My T-zone is now normal! 
And we didn't go home empty handed! Kiehl's was generous enough to give us each a full skincare set as soon above. So nice of them! So does my skin continues to be normal or does it goes back to being oily? Well, stay tuned for my review of the skincare set, coming up next!

Review: NARS Adult Swim Collection for Summer 2014

Hello loves! ❤ As you know, NARS is a very popular high-end cosmetic brand known to the world. Makeup lovers around the world would surely love to get their hands on the brand. We're so lucky that NARS has finally arrived in our country. Such a tearful moment for us all :') Hehe. My very first two products from NARS were their Bronzing Laguna and Orgasm blush. Those two are my holy grail as well. And today, I'm proud to present to you three products from their Summer 2014 Adult Swim Collection that's currently available in their store in Pavillion, Kuala Lumpur. 

In overseas, people likes to wear colourful colours during Summer because Summer is so happening for them but here in Malaysia, its Summer all year round that its not happening for us anymore HAHA! But that doesn't stop us from wearing bright makeups. So make your eyes pop with neon lemon lime and icy lavender shadows while rosy quartz and bronze add depth and definition to your eyes. Also, feel the heat with a soft and sultry peach champagne for cheeks and a bold geranium for nails that are also in the collection! 
Starting off with the Limited Edition Lost Coast Duo Eyeshadow. The left one is Golden Pewter and the right one is Lilac Snow. A little review: I love the shadows, its pigmented and feels so smooth and buttery. A bit powdery in my opinion but easy to blend. The colours are definitely out of my comfort zone but even so, its such a sweet and innocent colour to wear both alone and together. 

The Iraklion Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Smoky Rose Quartzis one of my favourite. Loving the soft pink colour. It has a smooth and creamy texture which is so easy to blend. You can use it on its own to just highlight your eyes for that awaken and eye brightening look or use it as a base for your powder shadows to intensify it. Very long wearing and doesn't make my shadows crease. 

Never owned any eye paint before and I'm absolutely surprised and impressed by how pigmented the Baalbek Eye Paint (bronze) is. The colour is beautiful and even more beautiful when you swatched it. Its a brilliant pot of high-impact pigment in an innovative silky, weightless gel formula. Its very long wearing and waterproof. When it stays on your lids it definitely stays on your lids. It doesn't budge, it doesn't smudge. It glides on smoothly and yet, it dries down quickly. Blend it out for a soft sultry look or go for the bold! 
And here are the swatches for you guys. You can see how pigmented and beautiful the colours are. Love it! As lilac is a very soft and almost to pale colour, be sure to prime your lids first for a strong and vivid colour. And here, I've put together a simple day to night eye makeup for you guys using the three products together. Hope you like it! 
As usual, always start with a clean eyes! Not to prime is a crime so be sure to prime your eyes first for a more intense colour pay-off! 

For the day look; I put Iraklion Soft Touch Shadow Pencil all over my lids as a base. Then I applied Lilac Snow on top of it for a slightly intense and lovelier lilac colour. Then I applied Golden Pewter on my lower lash lines. I finished off the look by highlighting my inner corners with Iraklion Soft Touch Shadow Pencil and also highlighting about 1/4 of my lower lash lines. 
For the night look; I placed the Baalbek Eye Paint all over my lids on top of Lilac Snow. You just need only a dap amount of Baalbek Eye Paint as its very pigmented so you might want to work with only little amount of it at a time. Build up the colour according to your liking but here, I just put a small amount of the eye paint and blended it well to make it really soft. Then I placed Lilac Snow on my inner corners with Golden Pewter still on my lower lashes. Finally, I placed Iraklion Soft Touch Shadow Pencil on my brow bones to highlight it.

Review: Maybelline Hypersharp Liner Laser Precision in Intense Black

Hello loves! ❤ Liquid liners have always been my favourite kind just because I think its so easy to apply and it just slides on like a charm. But not all liquid liners are my favourite. Wait, what am I saying? The only liquid liner that I've ever used is the Maybelline HyperSharp Liner. Its one of my holy grail products and I swear by it all the time. I have gone through a lot of it already. And when I heard Maybelline released a new HyperSharp Liner Laser Precision with three different colours, I screamed! I mean, I just gotta try and buy! 
The new Maybelline HyperSharp Liner Laser Precision gets even more precise and exact with their first ever in Malaysia 0.01mm tip. For winged-liner lovers, you can now have better control when lining your eyes with this new liner! The fine tip offers laser precision to create the lined look you want. You can even fill in the smallest gaps between lashes to create a more exact finish. The fine tip is so perfect for my small hooded eyes! 
Just a little comparison of the new HyperSharp Liner Laser Precision with the old HyperSharp Liner. You line is more precise and small with the new HyperSharp Liner Laser Precision and blacker too! If you think the old one's black, wait till you try the new one! You can go all out with the new one with an intense lined look or keep it subtle but still stunning with an alluring cat-eye effect. It is all possible and so simple to achieve. Best of all, you do not need to worry about smudging as it is smudge-proof, humidity-proof and lasts for 24 hours thanks to a unique hyper-coating polymer inspired by mascara. Comes in three colours: Intense black, soft black and brown! 

Likes: The old one has always been my favourite and one and only liquid liner and now, imagine how in love I am with the new one! I'm always a fan of tiny-winy line on top of my lashes and a simple (but sometimes dramatic and long) wing at the end. Its just so easy to achieve that with its super fine tip. Plus, its so easy to do the lining from the middle and the end type of look. Stays on so well just like the old one and doesn't smudge at all! And I have oily lids and often sweat so.. 

 Dislike: Not a single.

 Overall: The old one was the only liquid liner that I swore by and now, I'm going to swear by the new one!! Totally a must have in my opinion. So easy to use and you can literally create no mistake with it. Perfect for beginners and if you've always been afraid of using liquid liners, start of with this! Would totally recommend this to everyone and I would honestly repurchase it over and over again and also, purchase the other two colours!

Review: Maybelline New York White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder SPF34 PA+++

Hello loves! ❤ Previously I blogged about the launch of the new Maybelline New York White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder SPF34 PA+++ (here) and now its time for my verdict of the upcoming White Superfresh Powder from Maybelline! Maybelline has been talking to mainly teenage girls and young adults about their main concern when it comes to face powder/compact powder and many answered that they're looking for the ones that's long-lasting, whitens and controls oiliness. Thus, Maybelline White Superfresh was born! 
Like I mentioned in my previous post, the new innovative system of the Maybelline White Superfresh goes beyond sebum absorption which helps to speed up sweat drying and evaporation so that the skin can remain clean. You no longer need to touch up as the Maybelline White Superfresh contains Mineral Perlite with 5x the absorbing power of Talc which makes it more effective towards sweat and sebum. So you will stay matte and fresh up to 12 hours! Mine is in the colour 04 Honey. 
With one application, the silky-smooth powder absorbs and entraps sweat and sebum as well as speeds up sweat evaporation to prevent build-up. This faster drying action results in a clean touch and fresh makeup all day. Like I said, you will no longer need touch-ups! The White Superfresh reminds me of the Clear Smooth All In One Powder but with better and sturdier packaging. I always hear people saying that the Clear Smooth one is easily broken and by that I mean the powder. But I accidentally dropped by White Superfresh the other day and to my surprise, its A-OK! Just like new! And my friend was like "Boleh include dalam blog ni, tak pecah" LOL!

Likes: At first I thought 04 Honey was tii dark for me but it wasn't. It matched me perfectly. If you're NC30-35 than that's your colour! Love the silky smooth touch of the powder and also the packaging. It brightens the face and gives pretty decent coverage. You can wear it alone as its a lightweight powder or as a finishing powder. My T-Zone is really oily and it does keep my face matte but... 

 Dislike: You do need to touch up. 

 Overall: Though I may have put high expectation on the Maybelline White Superfresh in terms of the "no touch-ups" thing but overall, totally loving the powder! It does make you look fresh and matte but not up to 12 hours though. Like I said you do need to touch up but even so, you will rarely touch up if you know what I mean. Say you often touch up 5-6 times a day like me but with the Maybelline White Superfresh, you will only touch up 1-3 times a day. But of course, results may differ from person to person but honestly, I would totally recommend this to people. You girls should totally try it out!
