Unboxing: #Altheaturns1 Birthday Box

Salam everyone!
Remember my last post on Althea's birthday bash (view here)? It was one hell of a fun day! Well just a refresher; Althea is an online platform for beauty lovers to shop skincare and cosmetic products imported from Korea. Yes, Korea! I know you girls love everything Korean, right? They have brands like 3CE, April Skin, Laneige, Tony Moly, Innisfree, Banila Co, Missha and more! And by more I mean, loads more!

And these are what I got from Althea.kr in conjunction with Althea turns #1 birthday! Yay, unboxing time ^_^

I know, I kind of went overboard with the purchase here LOL! I blame Althea for having and bringing awesome brands from Korea right to our doorsteps with fast delivery. 100% happy with my purchase and I urge you girls to check out their website and splurge, splurge, splurge, splurge!!

Let's start with Skincare. I bought the Petitfee Gold EGF Eye & Spot Patch. Petitfee also carries Eye & Spot Patch in Ruby Rose and Black Pearl. Ruby Rose is to keep your skin healthy and youthful while the Black Pearl is to give intense moisture to the eyes. The onne that I got helps to firm up the eyes. Remember, prevention is key hehe. It's on sale from RM70 to RM27! Yes, 61% off discount. Get it now!

I also got the best seller item from Guerisson, their Guerisson 9 Complex Cream. Hehe bought it mostly cause I saw it almost everywhere and it got so many reviews too! This moisturizer contains Horse oil and it claims to maintain long lasting moisturizing effect for 72 hours and helps improve skin resilience excellently and strengthens the skin tension. From RM138 to RM46! 66% off tunggu apa lagiiiiiii.

Another best seller item that I bought is Banila Co Primer in Classic Matte. A lot of people raved about this and I just had to give it a try. It comes in three choices; Hydrating, Classic & Classic Matte. Being an oily girl, I just gotta pick Classic Matte. It doesn't make my makeup "cracked" once applied like some mattifying primer I know. Next purchase, hydrating! hihi. From RM99 to RM55 (44% off)!

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream is the shiz guys! If you haven't tried it, you really should! Me and this BB Cream go way back. I remembered back in the days when there were only a few famous Asian Beauty Youtuber around and they were promoting Missha BB Cream and  Skin69 Super+ Bleblesh BB Cream in Pink. Once I found out Althea carries this brand, I just gotta buy! From RM60 to RM47! 21% off guys please get this now don't delay! hehe.

Another base that everyone is raving about all over FB and Insta is the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion! Saw a lot of Instashops and shops selling questionable makeup brands at GM, Klang selling this that got me questioned the authenticity of the product. But fret not, at Althea.kr, you never have to question the authenticity of the products sold there as they are all 100% guaranteed authentic! From RM109 to RM55. 49% OFF!

The last two items I got are the Witch's Pouch Selfie Fix Pigment! Got them in 01 Like that & 04 Push Star and OMG guys, this Selfie Fix Pigment is life! If you guys are planning to get them, please just get all 4! Worth your money and they are extremely gorgeous! P/s: I already purchased the remaining 2 HAHAHA. From RM51 to RM20! With 60% off mana tak bungkus semua :p

I said it earlier and I'm going to say it again, I'm extremely happy with my purchases! And seriously guys, with all these discounts
and more on their website, you've got nothing to lose! More importantly since gaji dah masuk kan :p hihihi.

Do keep an eye out for all of the reviews! Review on the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream is coming up real soon. Stay tuned

Event: #Altheaturns1 Birthday Celebration!

Salam everyone!
Welcome back, Izzah After being MIA for God knows how long from attending events, I finally went to the event that I cannot miss, Althea Birthday Party! What's Althea you asked? Well, my brother asked the same thing too lol Althea's a platform that delivers fresh Korean beauty products from Korea (of course!) up to your doorsteps in just few days! Yang penting, all authentic and they always give us the best price!

It was held at Ruang, SS18 and the theme was pink! We were greeted with Korean snacks; few kinds of Kimbap (my first time trying it and it was not bad!), Bingsu Station - where we can choose any 4 flavours and top it with our preferred toppings, cool! And also various sweets and birthday cake!

The thing I love about events the most is that I get to get catch up with my blogger friends as well as meeting new friends and my internet/social media friends for the first time  The decorations of the events were so beautiful that we can actually take pictures with all sorts of background.

Not to mention, a stunning Althea-themed photobooth by Glitz & Glam Studiobooth
They'll take the photos for us and we get to keep the photos, yay!

The highlight of the event was that we get to meet the CEO in person! Meet, Althea.kr CEO, Mr. Frank Kang. The CEO with an #originalblusher cheeks (HAHA!) and who can sing opera! Daebak! And guess what? We were surprised by the 30-minutes shop time on their website worth RM150! All went panic since we only had 30 minutes to shop. And my Althea box came in yesterday! I managed to buy another Laneige BB Cushion Whitening since my mom just bought me the pore control version on her last trip to Korea and another two of the Selfie Pigments, yay!

The event ended with a Top 3 Best Dress Award and a surprise (yes, another surprise!) lucky draw from It's My, WondeRuci & Aromatica! All we had to do was grab any balloons behind the main stage and pop it! And I got the one from Aromatica (will review soon!).

Overall it was such a fun and happening party. Thanks Althea!! Looking forward to more events like this. Congrats again Althea.kr for the milestone! We will keep on supporting you as you guys are the best

Review: Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Salam everyone!

I rarely blog about foundation and that's because it's hard for me to find the perfect one that suits me in Malaysia. Most of my favourite foundations are from overseas which I sayang to use since it's hard to get. I was contemplating between this and NARS Sheer Glow but I ended up getting this instead since it's easier to get at Sunway Pyramid je.

Comes in this beautiful glass bottle, it carries a standard 30ml/1.0 fl oz worth of foundation. I heard great reviews about it that's why I decided to give it a try. I wanted to get it ever since it got out but my shade was always OOS. I decided to go with the shade Nude after arguing with my boyf on which shade to get HAHAHA but turns out, my perfect match would be mixing Nude (slightly lighter for me) with Light Beige (one shade darker than Nude)

I've never tried Too Faced foundations before and I must say that I'm incredibly impressed with this. It's so flawless on skin, blurs out imperfections and easy to blend both with sponge (my fav method!) and brush. And it doesn't make me look cakey at all, buildable even when I layer 2-3 pumps. It's medium to full coverage but looks absolutely natural and lasts long!

You can see how beautiful it is even when swatched. It even covers up the mole after 2 layers. But of course, you need concealer for extra coverage but if you're going light, this is nice too. My face doesn't look cakey even with 2-3 layers, still flawless & smooth. It has a dewy/luminous glow finish so for oily skin, beware. I have combo skin so I do need to blot excessively especially that I'm extra oily now tetiba but I don't mind since it looks flawless hikhik

Infused with:
Coconut Water: To delicately replenish skin's moisture levels
Alpine Rose: To brighten skin's appearance and promote elasticity
Hyaluronic Acid: For a smoother, more youthful appearance

Overall, I really am impressed by the formulation and coverage of the foundation. It sets smoothly and flawlessly on my skin. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it for now just beware those with oily skin! Prepare your puff & blotting paper in your bag! hehe. But yeah, total head over heels for it. I gotta save up some money to buy another one in the shade Light Beige!

*Update 25/2/16* A friend told me this foundation is meant for oily combination skin but sadly for me, it gets oily on the nose. My thought would be, maybe it's actually dewy and I'm just not used to it hehe will update more!

Price: RM135 @ Sephora Nationwide

Review: ABH Contour Kit (Light)

Salam everyone!

Meet my beloved (hence, dah lunyai) contour & highlight kit! Hehe. Tak sah kalau tak guna this every time I'm doing my makeup. I also have the Autralis Contour Kit (Light) that I got from Aussie. Planning on doing a comparison review but I reviewed it once on my Instagram before I deleted everything.
Beza dia? Contour shades je. ABH for light to medium. Australis for medium to tan.

I think I just got this a year ago but it looks so damaged though lol.

The Kit consists of six (6) shades; three highlighting shades (Vanilla, Banana & Sand) and three contouring shades (Fawn, Java & Havana). Mind you that Bronzer and Contour are two different things. The palette is actually self-explanatory - The two left shades are for the fair-skin. The middle ones are for light-skin. And the right ones are for medium-skin.

They all come in this rounded magnetic pan. They can be replaced or refilled and purchased individually. You can customized your own palette if some of the shades do not really work for you.

These are the highlighting shades. I love to mix Vanila + Banana for highlighting and it instantly brightens up my under eyes. Mostly I only highlight my under eyes tak macam minah salleh semua tempat nak letak lol. I rarely touch Sand. It has some tiny sparkly bits in them which I do not like and it is the less pigmented powder in the palette. Cam tak ada apa pun if guna Sand.

I usually just use Fawn for contouring but when I'm tanned, I will mix all three contouring shades. And for my nose, I use Java since it is a bit lighter and less intense. Look at Havana Brown (the creamiest one), so pigmented and dark. I mainly  use it to define my contour.

Aint contouring fun, guys? You can see right how kurus (illusion of course) it makes me on the "Slimmer" side. Baru lah 3D.
And on the "Donut" side, that is how I contour. I tak bronze my face pun, straight away bedal contour kuikui.

Likes:
- They are pigmented and provide coverage
- Creamy
- Blend-able
- Last long on your face
- Refil-able
- My all time fav

Dislikes:
- Sand a bit chalky & does not perform well for me

Price: RM200-250 (Depends on the website & seller)

P/s: Just found out that there's already a fake ABH Contour Powder and Cream Kit. Aliexpress already selling it. Watch out guys!

Review: Nivea Men Originals Post Shave Balm as a Primer!

Salam everyone!
I have finally jumped onto the Nivea Men Shave Balm wagon just like the rest of the world. I know for guys, you all must be like, "What in the world? Why are you using men shave balm for?" right? But for girls, you all must be like, "YASSSSSS GURL, YASSSSSS! ABOUT TYMEEEE!" Hahahaha memandai je. But is it really good, tho? Read on!

So here in Malaysia, we only have the Originals version and not the Sensitive one. Maybe kulit jejaka malaya kita tak sensitive kot lol. It comes in this beautiful and simple white glass bottle with a blue cap. I love that the glass makes it cam ala ala luxurious sikit. Not really lah kan but cam, sedap lah pegang hehe. And it feels kind of fancy.

When I first opened the cap, I was all, "Oh boy! This goin' get messy!" But surprisingly tak pun. It is very easy to control. And although the texture is liquidy (as seen above), it does not come pouring out or you know, splashing everywhere. Very men-friendly *ehems. It has a very strong smell tho. Kind of smell like men's armpits after they have put on deodorant hahahahaha anyone? Some people cannot stand it but to me, it is bearable.

It absorbs fast into the skin. It does not leave a sticky feel but it does feel like it has a strong hold to whatever you are putting on top of it, i.e. foundation. Geddit? Haha. Kena cuba baru tau eceh. It contains Glycerin which has many benefits like keeping your oiliness at bay, soothes your acne and redness, makes the skin soft and many other benefits. So if you have oily skin, try this! Tho it does not keep 100% of the oil at bay, but still, it keeps it at bay throughout the day and it makes your foundation or whatever bases you have on top of it, stay for a very long time.

Ingredients: Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Glycerin, Distarch Phosphate, Ethylhexyl Cocoate, Parfum, Aloe arbadensis Leaf Juice, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dimethicone, Triceteareth-4 Phosphate, Sodium Carbomer, Limonene, Linalool.

Vain pictures of me using the primer. I look flawless cam airbrush gitu.

Hmmm, what is with the same hand gesture pls???????????????????????
P/s: Tutorial on this look coming up soon!

Likes:
- Absorbs fast
- Does not leave a sticky feeling
- Has a strong hold (to your foundation)
- Helps your make up last longer than most primers
- Affordable & does the job uber well!!!!!!!
- Suitable for sensitive skin & oily girls
- Keeps the oil at bay
- Fancy bottle

Dislikes:
- Apa bau ketiak lelaki niiiiiiiiiiiiii (like right after they wear deodorant) (ke aku je yang bau gitu?)
- Kind of hard to find now

Price: RM N/A (will update, cheq lupa)
Where to buy? Guardians & Watsons

Review: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Hello loves!  This is my #1 face powder that I cannot live without right now. I still love my
M.A.C Skin finish natural but in the drugstore range, Rimmel Stay Matte is my bae

"A powder that helps to minimize the appearance of pores,
while giving a smooth, shine free finish lasting up to 5 hours"

Bought two shades, Transparent & Sandstorm to suit my two characters HAHA. Transparent shade is when I feel like
being a fair-y princess and Sandstorm is when I feel like being a latino girl or when I want a more natural look.

I love that the powder comes with Rimmel pattern logo on it. It's adorable! But it makes me sayang to just it and destroy the logo but as you can see, I already hit the pan on Transparent. It's my go-to powder and I cannot live without it. Sandstorm is a bit neglected as it does not suit me well, tad bit dark for me. Tad bit dark for the whole latino scene :p

The feel of the powders are super soft and fine. Silky feel gitu. And it goes on smooth and natural on your skin. It does not quite provide extra coverage like my M.A.C but I find that with a compact, buffer-like brush, it gives the extra umph! to your finishing look! I love using it with my Ecotools Bronzer brush

Likes: Pretty much everything about it! It makes my makeup look so good and it lasts pretty long too. I do need to blot 1-2 times throughout the day but it does not bother me much as it does my makeup look worse, cakey or powdery. It makes me look good all the time.

Dislikes: The packaging. It's cute and all but it would be nice if I could slide in my puff in there as opposed to bringing a separate pouch to place my puff to avoid it getting dirty.

And again, can someone please explain why Rimmel was taken down in Malaysia?
We need these powders up and ready on the shelves when we run out of it!

Price: RM 20-30 (depending on sellers)
$AUD 12.95 @ Priceline

Where to get it in Malaysia? Here are a few of my personal insta-seller favourites
@a.m.a.z.inc
@cakefaceconfession_
@shopmystash
or check Carousell!
